Continue on the loop heading left (you will take the looping path on the right later). Naturally found near streams and in canyons, Vitis girdiana can best be seen at the Arboretum along the mountain-facing shore of Baldwin Lake. The leaves of V. girdiana, resembling hearts in shape and color, shimmer in the sun. When young, the leaves of V. girdiana have a distinctive fuzz. When mature, V. girdiana can rapidly grow its vines to more than 40 feet (~12 meters) in length.
