Get back on the dirt trail and loop to the Coach Barn; you can find the red oak on the grass. With characteristically lobbed leaves, red oak is a stunning fall tree. Adapted to warm summers, freezing winters, and extensive precipitation, red oak is outside of its native range in California and requires regular watering at the Arboretum. Two additional red oaks can be found on the mountain-facing side of Tule Pond.
