Move to the right side of the Coach Barn across from the red oak. Commonly referred to as the maidenhair tree, ginkgo produces a mesmerizing, golden blanket of leaves when they are all shedded in just two days during fall. The seeds of ginkgo, naturally covered in an odorous coating, are cleaned and consumed extensively throughout Asia. Check out some other ginkgo trees among the magnolias near the Meyberg Waterfall; here you can see variations in leaf shape and color, along with miniature ginkgos.
